Biography

Tina Cervasio is the Lead Sports Anchor on FOX 5 WNYW-NY, serving “Good Day New York” and evening newscasts as well as the host of “Sports Xtra” every Sunday at 10:30 PM. In May of 2024, Cervasio became the New York Liberty Sideline reporter for all local games broadcast on FOX 5 NY/My9.  In addition to her full-time work at FOX 5, Cervasio serves as a College Football Sideline Reporter and Host for CBS Sports Network. She has covered all Army Football home games at West Point since 2018 and is a co-host on the Army-Navy “March On” and “Tailgate” Pregame Shows since 2020, while also doing the sideline reporting during the game for Westwood One Radio.  Cervasio is also a host on CBS Sports’ all-female sports talk show “We Need To Talk”.  And in 2025 Cervasio has diversified her television career by anchoring the news and filling in as a host on longest running local morning show in the New York City market … Good Day New York.

At FOX 5 NY, when Cervasio hosts the weekly sports show, “Sports Xtra,” every Sunday night, she conducts exclusive interviews, presents feature-length sports stories, and news on the New York/Tri-State area teams and around the sports world. Beginning in 2024, top “Sports Xtra” guests have been added to a digital series “Sports Xtra Xtra” on FOX 5 Digital and YouTube, releasing the extended, start to finish sit down interview.

Cervasio had been with FOX 5, starting as a fill-in sports anchor and reporter since 2009. The broadcast veteran is a seven-time New York Emmy Award Winner as part of the New York Knicks Broadcasts on MSG Networks, where Cervasio worked from 2008 to 2017.

During that time, Cervasio was also the pregame and halftime host of the New York Red Bulls broadcasts, and served as the in-game and postgame reporter.

Before joining FOX 5 fulltime, Cervasio was a host at SiruisXM NBA Radio, where she became the first female lead-host on the NBA Channel in 2015.

Cervasio has also held the positions of play-by-play announcer for the Olympic Games with Westwood One Radio, sideline reporter for the NFL on FOX, and NBA on TNT and as the field reporter for the Boston Red Sox on the New England Sports Network (NESN).

As a University of Maryland graduate, Cervasio was honored in 2014 with the “Distinguished Terrapin Award” by the College of Journalism for “Excellence in Journalism.” Other awards include the Nutley, New Jersey Hall of Fame Class of 2011, joining Martha Stewart and the late Senator Frank Lautenberg.

Cervasio also has a heart for charities. In 2008, 2009 and 2013 she ran the New York City Marathon for Garden of Dreams Foundation. She regularly visits New York City Public Schools to motivate students with New York Edge, and serves as emcee for several fundraisers each year, including the United Way of New York Gridiron Gala.

Cervasio resides in Cedar Grove, New Jersey with her husband, Kevin and their two Himalayan cats, Princess Leia and Rey Skywalker.~
